The Bristol Dogs Home
Jess Coles, Fundraising Co-ordinator, decided to use the Invitation book to help with fundraising efforts to keep the Dogs Home running.
"We're always looking for new and innovative ways to raise money," says Jess "The book was great as everyone gets something out of it".

Stroke Association
“We loved the idea of this scheme because everybody gains. Our services get extra funding while our supporters can recoup the cost of the book many times over. We approached local companies that were already supporting our work and asked them to sell Invitation books to their staff and customers. Invitation also gave us the perfect opportunity to approach new companies to seek their support”

Persian Rescue Bristol
"Persian Rescue Bristol has been using the Invitation Books to raise funds since 2005 and we have raised over £400. The funds raised has helped us buy a new large pen for cats that are rescued in pairs or mother with kittens."
Isabel Davenport, Manager

Lisa Doherty from The Royal Orthopaedic NHS Foundation Trust in Birmingham
"I first came across the Invitation Book through my son's toddler group, so I knew selling Invitation Books at work would be a fantastic opportunity for the staff to raise money for the hospital's charitable funds. We sold 50 copies to start with amongst my colleagues but it's been so successful we have expanded the sale to the 4000 members of the Foundation Trust. We plan to use the money raised to buy play equipment for the children's wards."

Cystic Fibrosis Trust and Bristol Children's Hospital
John Roberts and his family decided early on that they wanted to use the Invitation Book to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust and Bristol Children's Hospital. The family have been selling the Invitation Book since its first edition in 2004 and are dedicated to this method of fundraising. "Everyone benefits from the book sales," says John. "We have raised hundreds of pounds while the people who buy the book make great savings. I feel the book has helped us do some real good over the years."

The Tiny Lives Campaign, Bristol
Fundraising Manager Karen Willis welcomed The Invitation Book’s involvement by commenting, “The Invitation Book book is a brilliant idea! Great news for everyone! It gives small charities like the Tiny Lives Campaign an easy and low risk way of raising extra money alongside other fundraising. We gave them to our supporters to sell at their events to boost their fundraising – our Parents Support Group sold a fantastic 100 books! We were all competing with each other to see how much we could save in total from one book – one person managed to save more than £500!”

Kingswood Performing Arts, Bristol
“This year The Invitation Book has helped us to raise over £150 for Kingswood Ten Sing. We think the initiative has proved to be a great success, which will continue to grow from strength to strength”

RNID Cymru
“It is a fantastic idea that not only benefits the purchaser but helps us to raise money as well. We have sold 90 books so far and it is so easy to do. Not only have books been sold to members of staff, family and friends bit also to local corporates with whom we have a relationship. Barclays Bank plc have been very supportive and have been selling them on behalf to staff in their Cardiff and Newport offices. We have also sold copies to staff at a local call centre and architect firm.” Rachel Davies, Regional Fundraising Manager

Cats and Dogs Home, Bath
“We have enjoyed great success with sales when placing the books on the counter of the site shop in the dispenser provided by Invitation. The book proved rather popular and is a great idea as it has not only generated vital funds for the Home but it helps promote local businesses and provide a platform on which we can build future associations and fundraising possibilities with these businesses” Jill Roynon, Community Fundraiser.

St Ann’s Hospice
“Invitation provides a great way to raise money that also means that the buyer benefits. We have already started selling the book, which has had a great response. As well as selling in all of our charity shops, we are looking at approaching other retail outlets to sell the book on our behalf. It is also a great and easy way for schools and businesses to raise money, either through buying The Invitation Book, or selling it to raise funds. This ties in well with Corporate Social Responsibility as well as the Citizenship Module of the National Curriculum” Jeni Matthewman, Communications Manager
