The Hotel Du Vin chain, now eleven strong, and its sister company, Malmaison, are owned by London-based international property company MWB Group Plc (formerly Marylebone Warwick Balfour Group Plc). As its name suggests, Hotel Du Vin offers quintessentially European-style food, elegant yet unpretentious and with a keen interest in wine. The hotels are all located in interesting converted buildings, such as a Georgian townhouse, a hospital or a brewery, and the bistros offer modern European cuisine. The Bristol Hotel du Vin is housed in the restored Grade II-listed Sugar House, previously a collection of warehouses, dating from the 1700s, and the oak beams and exposed brickwork pay tribute to the building’s heritage.
