The Mashuk family’s long-established and multi award-winning Curry House is a cool and elegant restaurant. Its clean lines, terracotta floors, block print modern art, contemporary wooden tables and elegant tall-backed chairs provide an appropriate setting for the menu which includes plenty of modern interpretations as well as classic favourites.
After the obligatory poppadoms and pickle, try for starters, vegetable somosa with vegetable chat or the very tender pepper lamb. Mains include the sweet and saucy chicken tikka masala, chunky pieces of barbecued chicken in a sweet but tangy sauce with cashew nuts. Pescetarians can enjoy enormous Bangladeshi prawns, cooked with fresh ginger and served in a thick green and red pepper sauce with sultanas.
All dishes are beautifully presented on large white plates and delivered by smartly-dressed waiting staff, yet another illustration of how the Curry House manages so successfully to bring together Old World tradition and New World flair in deepest Brislington.
