Privately owned by Laurence and Helen Beere, the celebrated Olive Tree Restaurant has gained a reputation as a relaxed contemporary restaurant offering excellent cuisine, fine wines, and great service. The restaurant occupies three basements, whose floor levels step down following the road's incline. The Olive Tree creates a sophisticated atmosphere whilst retaining the warmth and friendliness of the personal and attentive service offered by an experienced restaurant team.
Head Chef Nick Brodie's career highlights include holding the Senior Sous Chef role at both The Bath Priory Hotel and The Royal Crescent Hotel as well as international experience working in Hong Kong.
Nick's gastronomy ethos is simple - in fact it's all about simplicity. He says, ""The Olive Tree menus are heavily based on the freshest seasonal ingredients, and also on what can be sourced locally. The most important aspect is that the flavours of each ingredient must mix, match and complement each other. We keep it all fresh, and essentially simple, by using the amazing produce that we have right here on our doorstep"".
Lunchtime menus offer diners the choice of a set 2 or 3-course lunch, from £18.50. However, the restaurant is popular with local business people and shoppers for its simple lunch à la carte menu, where many of the dishes are priced as starters or main courses. The evening menu offers guests a full à la carte of over 20 dishes, changing on a regular basis.
The wine list offers guests an extensive collection of more than 300 wines from some of the UK's top suppliers.
